Be Ready For Outdoor Shoots As Spring Arrives
By its very nature, most glamour photography takes place indoors. A model might be happy to be photographed, but that does not mean all and sundry should be able to see her naked or half-naked while the work is taking place.
Nonetheless, an outdoor shoot can be an exciting thing to do, adding scenery and a sense of wildness to situations. Winter is not much of a time to do it unless you fancy catching hypothermia, but now spring is coming these opportunities will become increasingly apparent.
A good photographer will have long mastered the art of taking photos outdoors. This will involve skills like picking the best times of day to make use of natural light. For example, the sun can be too bright and harsh at noon, but later in the day as sunset approaches it provides wonderful tints and a great glow.
For the model, the trick has to be to work with nature. There are many ways you can do this. For instance, you can capture the shadows as the sun sets, bringing attractive contrasts of dark and light. And if that can tease and tantalise the viewer, so can using flowers and leaves to hide your assets.
When it is warm enough to go in the water, you can produce some wonderful scenes either underwater in a mermaid-like pose, or half-submerged, once again with a tantalising hint of what lies under the surface.
Being very creative, you might even use sand dunes around the beach to recreate a ‘desert’ effect.
You will still need to be well-prepared for outdoor shoots in spring, of course. You must be ready to cover up again swiftly to stay warm and keep you away from prying eyes. And, as ever, you and your photographer will need to pick your locations carefully, not just for aesthetic reasons but to make sure you are not seen by anyone who shouldn’t.
